How to Review/Search for Courses via WIN

  1. Go to WIN and select Virtual Campus.
  2. Under ‘Class Registration and Schedule,’ select Register for Classes Using Class Search.
  3. Select the current term and click Submit.
  4. Select at LEAST one subject, then choose Advanced Search.
  5. Select any/all needed criteria, then click Section Search.

YOU CAN NOW SEARCH FOR COURSES WITHOUT NEEDING TO LOG IN TO WIN!

  1. Click on this link: Review/Search for Course Schedule
  2. Select the current term and click Submit.
  3. Select at LEAST one subject.
  4. Select any/all needed criteria, then click Section Search.

Check for Holds

Holds must be cleared prior to Registration in order to register for classes.  Offices such as Finance & Accounting, ZSR, etc. will NOT be available to remove holds after 4 p.m.  The Office of the University Registrar staff cannot remove a hold placed by another office.

To check Holds:

  1. Login to your WIN account.
  2. Select Virtual Campus.
  3. Select Check Your Holds & Registration Status and view your holds.

Add a Course or Multiple Courses Simultaneously via WIN

  1. Login to your WIN account.
  2. Select Virtual Campus.
  3. Click on Register for Classes using Course Reference Numbers (CRN).
  4. Enter the Course Reference Number (CRN) for all the course or courses you want to add on the Add Classes Worksheet.
  5. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Submit.

Add a Lecture and a Laboratory Course via WIN

  1. Login to your WIN account.
  2. Select Virtual Campus.
  3. Click on Register for Classes using Course Reference Numbers (CRN).
  4. Enter the Course Reference Numbers (CRN) for both the lecture and laboratory on the Add Classes Worksheet.
  5. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Submit.

Drop a Course via WIN

  1. Login to your WIN account.
  2. Select Virtual Campus.
  3. Click on Register for Classes using Course Reference Numbers (CRN).
  4. Find the class you want to to drop. On the drop down menu, select Drop via WEB.
  5. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Submit.

Drop and Add Simultaneously

  1. Login to your WIN account.

  3. Click on Register for Classes using Course Reference Numbers (CRN).
  4. Find the class you want to to drop. On the drop down menu, select Drop via WEB.but do NOT click Submit yet.
  5. Enter the Course Reference Number (CRN) on the Add Classes Worksheet.
  6. NOW Click Submit.  The dropped course will be removed and the added course will appear on your schedule.

*Be sure to check your schedule to confirm the schedule changes have been made.  To do this, go to Virtual Campus -> under Class Registration and Schedule, select Student Detail Schedule -> view your class schedule.*

Register a Course using Permission of Instructor (POI) Number

QUESTION: My instructor has given me a POI Number for her class…what do I do with it? 
ANSWER:  Using a Permission of Instructor Number (POI) in WIN requires two steps:  
STEP 1: Entering the POI Number at a specific location in WIN.   
STEP 2: Entering the class CRN in Add/Drop and actually register for the class.

How to Add a Class Using POI in WIN:

Step 1 – Entering the POI Number:

  1.  Log into WIN.
  2.  Select Virtual Campus.
  3. Click on Permission of Instructor Entry Page.
  4.  Enter the POI number(s) and click Submit.

Step 2 – Register for the Course:

  1. Once the POI has been submitted, select the Add/Drop Courses link from the POI Submission Results page.
  2. Enter the Course Reference Number (CRN) on the Add Classes Worksheet.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Submit.

*Be sure to check your schedule to confirm the schedule changes have been made.  To do this, go to Virtual Campus -> under Class Registration and Schedule, select Student Detail Schedule -> view your class schedule.*

“Swap” One Course for Another Using Permission of Instructor (POI) Number

  1. Follow Step 1 (Entering the POI Number) of How to Add a Class Using POI in WIN.
  2. Once the POI has been submitted, select the Add/Drop Courses link from the POI Submission Results page.
  3. Find the class you want to to drop. On the drop down menu, select Drop via WEB…but do NOT click Submit yet.
  4. Enter the Course Reference Number (CRN) on the Add Classes Worksheet.
  5. NOW Click Submit.  The dropped course will be removed and the added course will appear on your schedule.

*Be sure to check your schedule to confirm the schedule changes have been made.  To do this, go to Virtual Campus -> under Class Registration and Schedule, select Student Detail Schedule -> view your class schedule.*

Join a Waitlist

If the course and section for which you are attempting to register is full, you will receive an “error” message stating that it is closed and indicating the number of students already on the waitlist.

*Example: “Closed – X Waitlisted” indicates “X” students are already waitlisted; you will be in the NEXT position.*

If you want to join a waitlist, follow these instructions:

  1. Login to your WIN account if you have not already done so.
  2. Select Virtual Campus.
  3. Click on Register for Classes using Course Reference Numbers (CRN).
  4. Enter the Course Reference Number (CRN) on the Add Classes Worksheet.
  5. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Submit.
  6. To be added to the waitlist, select “waitlisted” from the drop-down and click Submit.
  7. Check to make sure that the course appears under Current Schedule with a status of “Waitlisted.”

Register for a Waitlisted Course when Receive a Notification About an Open Seat

  1. Login to your WIN account.
  2. Select Virtual Campus.
  3. Click on Register for Classes using Course Reference Numbers (CRN).
  4. Using the drop-down under Action, select either Web Registered to enter/register the course or Drop via WEB to remove yourself from the waitlist.

Check my Position on a Waitlist

  1. Login to your WIN account.
  2. Select Virtual Campus.
  3. Under Class Registration and Schedule, click on Student Detail Schedule.
  4. Look for Waitlist Position. If and when your position is “1,” you will receive the next notification if a seat opens up.

*NOTE: Waitlisted courses do NOT appear on your “Student Schedule by Day and Time.”*

Drop a Waitlisted Class/Course when Receiving a Notification

Unless online registration is closed, you may return to WIN and drop any waitlisted course by following these instructions:

  1. Login to your WIN account.
  2. Select Virtual Campus.
  3. Click on Register for Classes using Course Reference Numbers (CRN).
  4. Find the waitlisted class you want to to drop. On the drop down menu, select Drop via WEB.
  5. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Submit.

Use Google Chat for Registration Help

Exceed More Than 17 Credit Hours

Prior to the start of classes, students may register for more than 17 credit hours with special permission. Students must complete the Exceed Hour Limit in order to register for more than 17 credit hours. Permission of your adviser and the Dean (from the Office of Academic Advising) are required to complete the form.

Change a Course to Pass/Fail

Second, third and fourth-year students may elect no more than 4 Pass/Fail hours in a given semester. Courses used to fulfill core, quantitative reasoning, cultural diversity, major, minor, or certificate program requirements may not be taken on a pass/fail basis unless they are offered only on that basis.  Students can change from graded to pass/fail until the last day to drop but can change back to standard letter grade up until the twelfth Friday of the term.

To change a course from grade to pass/fail, students should register for the course as usual then bring a signed Change Grade Mode Form with the pass/fail option marked to the Registrar’s Office. This change cannot be processed on WIN.

Audit a Course

When space is available after the registration of regularly enrolled students, others may request permission of the instructor to enter the course as auditors. An audit may NOT be changed to a credit course or a credit course changed to an audit after the first official day of classes for each term.

To audit a course, students should register bring in a signed Audit Class Form with the audit option marked and the instructor’s permission to the registrar’s Office. This change cannot be processed on WIN.

Take a Graduate Level Course

In order for Undergraduate students to take a graduate level course, students should fill out the Undergraduate Permission to take Graduate Level Courses Form and bring it to the Office of the University Registrar.
