How to Interpret the Schedule

Face to Face

  • In the search results, Face-to-Face sections are denoted with the words “Face-to-Face” in the course title and the attribute “Face-to-Face”
    • In the Class Details popup, the instructional method is Traditional (for normal class sections) or Non-Traditional (for independent study, etc.)

Blended Traditional Sections

  • In the search results, Blended Traditional sections are denoted with the phrase “Blended-Traditional” in the course title and the attribute “Blended – Traditional”
    • In the Class Details popup, the instructional method is Blended
  • Blended full class sections are those where the full class meets in the classroom some days and online other days.
    • In the following example, the entire class meets on Tuesday from 3:30 PM to 4:45 PM in building Tribble Hall, room A10 (teal box)
    • The entire class meets on Thursday from 3:30 PM to 4:45 PM synchronously, indicated by the Building “Online” and the room “SYN” (purple box)

    • Sections may include asynchronous sessions
  • Blended cohorted sections are those where a smaller group of students meet in the classroom on some days days while the other groups meet in the classroom on other days
    • Review the Section.  Classes that are split into cohorts will share the same letter (e.g., A) with a different number following to indicate the cohort (e.g., 1, 2).
      • In the example below, one class was split into two sections, A1 and A2, each meeting on a different day of the week with a smaller number of students

      • Section A1 meets on Tuesday from 11:00 AM to 12:15 PM in building Scales Fine Arts Center room 9 (teal box) and requires engagement on Thursday asynchronously, indicated by the Building “Online” and the room “ASYN” (purple box)

      • Section A2 requires engagement on Tuesday asynchronously, indicated by the Building “Online” and the room “ASYN” (purple box) and meets on Thursday from 11:00 AM to 12:15 PM in building Scales Fine Arts Center room 9 (teal box)

      • Some blended cohorted sections meet in smaller groups of students on different days in the classroom, but the entire class meets online another day, as in the example below

Online Sections and Blended-Online Pathway Sections

  • In the search results, Online sections are denoted with the word “Online” in the course title and the attribute “Online”
    • In the Class Details popup, the instructional method is Online 
  • Review the Meeting Times of a course section to determine when/if the class meets
    • In the following example, the class meets on Fridays from 2:00 PM – 2:50 PM synchronously, indicated by the Building “Online” and the Room “SYN” (teal box)
    • The class also requires engagement on Mondays and Wednesdays asynchronously, indicated by the Building “Online” and the Room “ASYN” but not at a specific time (purple box)

    • Sections may be scheduled entirely synchronously, entirely asynchronously, or a combination of both, as in the example above
    • Blended-Online Pathway sections will look similar to the example above, but include the phrase “Blended-Online Pathway” in the title, have the attribute “Blended – With Online Pathway”, will appear as an additional section to a blended class, and will be denoted with a number, such as B3 in the example below
